Underground Playground and Assembly Hall Improvements to this compact Victorian School, with only its central courtyard as a play area, have maximised the use of space on this very restricted site. The conversion of basement vaults and associated rooms provide a colourful all-weather play environment, combined with a new assembly hall. Elements of structural glazing in the courtyard floor enable the external courtyard area to be maximised, while still allowing natural light to the basement. A vibrant linoleum floor, designed for games, and bright colours enhance the spaces. Builder - M. J. Wadey Ltd/Troy Construction Ltd. Structural Engineer - Structural Solutions.
